Let's learn how to set up custom alerts and notifications in Mapify using a geofencing demo in Paris.

Setting up custom alerts and notifications in Mapify is pretty straightforward. Imagine you have a vehicle in Paris, and you want to be notified if it enters a restricted zone. Here's how you can do it:

First, make sure your vehicle's data includes a field like "Violation Detected," set to False by default. You’ll use Mapify Workflows to automate the process, and if you’re new to workflows, we’ve got a how-to video that can guide you. Next, you need an email address to receive these alerts. Mapify lets you use a Webhook to generate a unique email address where you’ll preview the alerts.

In your workflow, add an email sink node. This is where you’ll customize your alert by adding a subject line, the recipient’s email address, and a message template. After you confirm these details, the workflow might take a few minutes to update.

Now, run your simulation. As the vehicle crosses into the restricted zone, you’ll receive an alert email. You can enhance these alerts by including details like the vehicle’s license plate and the specific zone it entered.

If you prefer, you can set up the workflow to send an HTTP request instead of an email, directing the alert to a URL.

And that’s it. With Mapify, you can easily create real-time alerts without any coding, keeping you informed and in control.
